NSCRT Land Acknowledgement

The NSCRT respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral, unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Mi’kmaq. We are committed to facing the historic and ongoing systemic barriers and injustices caused by colonization and the resulting inequitable treatment of Indigenous, Mi’kmaw and Metis peoples in health care. We recognize colonialism has caused significant barriers to access, participation, representation and success within our profession.

Our EDIRA work includes reconciliation for a reason. We are all treaty people. Without reconciliation we cannot truly advance an equitable and inclusive future in healthcare. It is our duty to identify and dismantle ongoing oppression collaborate with, and support Indigenous and Mi’kmaw partners on a collective vision towards supported healing, respecting of rights, and meaningful change in our regulation of our industry.
