About The NSRRT
The Nova Scotia Regulator of Respiratory Therapy (NSRRT) oversees the Respiratory Therapy profession by setting standards and making sure respiratory therapists follow provincial laws. The NSRRT is not a school - it is a professional regulatory body.
The NSRRT is led by a Board of Directors, which includes Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) appointed by the Board of Directors and public representatives appointed by the government. Their main job is to protect the public.
The Board also creates committees that handle important tasks, such as:
- Registering new registrants
 - Setting professional standards
 - Ensuring therapists continue learning
 - Managing complaints

If a complaint is made, the NSRRT investigates and, if needed, takes action against registrants for serious issues like misconduct, incompetence, or incapacity.
